Edgy design: Spikes on my nails

For today I have an Edgy design with Spikes.

For the last nailartchallenge for the month May, the prompt of a challenge was 'Edgy' and when I was planning this design, I immediately thought of the spikes that I've bought a long time ago and that I've only used one time before.

The spikes and sequins are are dark, so I wanted to use some bright nailpolishes and the polishes I used are Kleancolor 'Neon Amethyst' and 'Silver Purple'

Because I only wanted one nail with all spikes, I used black holographic sequins for some extra 'edgy-ness'
I've tried to get the holo-goodness on photo, but that was almost impossible, so only in one picture you can see some of it.

I put some Seche Vite on the sequins to adhere the spikes and that worked really well!

I love the endresult and because of the different kind of design then i usually make, I tried some different handposes and I think the 'claw' is a fitting pose for this design!

NOTD Silver Tribal

My NOTD is this Silver Tribal nailart and is for #glamnailschallenge on Instagram.

My basecolor is a beautiful silver polish, made out out micro-glitter from the Hema.
This is 2 coats of the polish which dries really fast.

When the polish was drying, I stamped a tribal image from BornPrettyStore BPL-010 stampingplate and filled that in with on the stampinghead with Dashica 'Neon Yellow' and 'Neon Red'.
To make a sticker, I polished the image with the Silver Hema-polish and let that dry thoroughly.

With a tweezer I then lifted the image from the stampinghead and placed it on my nail.
With a scissor I cut the image in my nailshape and with a brush with acetone, I cleaned up my cuticles.
Because the silver polish is made of glitter, I could not get my cuticles as clean as I would have wanted....

Zodiac waterdecals, review for Born Pretty Store

For today's blog, I have a second BronPrettyStore.com review and it is of waterdecals with Zodiac-signs.
And I can tell you already: I love them!!!

The only negative I can think of is that my sign, Gemini, misses the starsigns and the Gemini-image.

And because of that, I decided to use my husbands zodiac, which are Pisces.

I searched online which colors are the colors of Pisces and that are blue, grey and white (depends on the website) so I used Essence Cinderella 'Prince Charming' for the base and then dabbed with a piece of make-up sponge with white and grey to get a 'cloudy'-basecoat.

When the base was completely dry, I cut out the images on the sheet which I wanted to use for this design. I used all the Pisces-images, because, why not ;)

Before I put the images in water, I peeled of the plastic overlay, because if you forget that, you can trow away the decal...

Once the plastic sheet is peeled off, I put the decals in water and after about 10 seconds, the image comes loose and I picked them up with just my fingers.
I then placed the decals on the nails I wanted them.

To take off the last droplets of water, I used a qtip and when my nails were completely dry, I topcoated my design.

I love these decals!
They are easy to use and you have instant result.
To bad about the Gemini, but all other Zodiacs will have a blast with these waterdecals!

Cuticle Tattoo, review for Born Pretty Store

Hi guys!

For today I have a review for you. I was contacted by BornPrettyStore.com if I wanted to review some products from their site and I could not say no ;)

So i choose 3 products and these Cuticle Tattoos are the first I will review.
The Tattoos i used for this review are NCT-008 with itemnumber #19807

I've seen a lot of people use temporarily tattoos in their nailart and when i saw these, I wanted to try them out!

When I received my package, I wanted to try these tattoos first.
I've made a neonpink and white base with Catrice LE 'Bright, Brighter, Brightest' and SinfulColors 'Snow me White'
Then I stamped with BPL-018 and Dashica stampingpolishes 'Neon Pink' and 'White'
I topcoated the design, so I could be sure the polish wouldn't be affected by the water from the decals.

When the topcoat completely dried, I cut the decals and peeled off the plastic sheet and placed them on my nails.

With a q-tip with water I saturated the paper and held the paper on it's place on my nail.
After a couple of seconds the paper started to move, the sign that the waterdecals transferred to my nail.
I slided the paper off and the waterdecal was good and firm on its place.

Because there was a bit water left on my nails, i used a q-tip to gently pat it off, but (as you can see in the pink close-up) the decal crinkled a bit.
So i let the rest of my nails dry on its own.

On this close-up you can see the beauty of the waterdecals best.
I thought I had placed them really nice in the middle, but I have to practice placing a bit more, but that's no problem, because there are still lots of decals left on the sheet.

I am really pleased with the Cuticle Tattoos.
I didn't use them for my cuticles, but as you can see, they are perfect for nailart too!

There are 8 different designs to choose from, so you will find a design of your liking!

Holo dotticure over a Duochrome-polish

In natural light

May is a month full of nailchallenges and this is the design I started this month with: Holo dotticure over a duochrome nailpolish.

The duochrome nailpolish is Kleancolor ‘Bright/Moody’, a blue and purple polish, which I could not get on photo with a real good look at the colorshift.

In my lightbox

Then I dotted with Color Club ‘Cherubic’ and made a kind of gradient with the dots. This is the easiest way to use a dottingtool, because the dots don't hacve to be even, so just dot away!

Close-up in my lightbox

It was difficult to get all the different colors in one photo, so I made several, using my lightbox and daylight lamps as well as natural light from the sun.

I noticed that you can see designs better with artificial light and if I want to capture all the colors in a holographic polish or duochrome polish, natural light works best.

So, how do you like the holo dotticure over a duochrome polish??

Flakies!!! Who doesn't love Flakies!!!

Catrice's LE Million Styles Effect Topcoat C04 'Shake it! Flake It!'

This will be a pic-heavy post, but look at the beauty of these Flakies!!!!
They deserve a lot of pictures to show you their gorgeousness.

The Flakies I've used for this design are in Catrice's LE Million Styles Effect Topcoat C04 'Shake it! Flake It!'
I don't think you can buy them anymore, so i'm sorry if I made you want them.....

To make the gold-red-green shine pop, the basecolor I've used is Kleancolor 'Dark Red' a deep red that is opaque in 2 coats and is so dark, it almost look black.

 Close-up

Because Flakies also look very good when they are mattefied, I've used Essie "Matte About You' as a matte topcoat.
As you can see, the Flakies are still gorgeous, but the colors are different. Not better or worse, just different. And i couldn't find the green effect when mattefied.

But look at all that Flakie-goodness!!!

Mattefied with Essie "Matte about You'

This design was for a nailchallenge on Instagram, so I wanted to spice this mani up with a leave-stamping, because the Flakies remind me of a forest pond with all the leaves floating in it.

I stamped with Essence White Stampy and BornPrettyStore stampingplate BP-30 and now i think it really looks like a forest pond.

What do you think about these Flakies? Love them or hate them ;)
